The Breakup Workbook: A Common Sense Guide to Getting Over your Ex

A local writer, Melysha Acharya of Newton, MA is releasing her new book today entitled, The Breakup Workbook: A Common Sense Guide To Getting Over Your Ex. Melysha is a thirty-two year old woman who after seven years of dating mayhem is now in a committed relationship. She founded www.brokenheartedgirl.com in 2004 and uses her own experience with relationships to help others figure out theirs.

I had an E-copy of Melysha’s book and she asked me to review it on examiner.com. Now I consider myself a crackerjack at relationships (see my bio) and I’ve been through many a breakup. I’ve been cheated on, cheated with, and just plain cheated. So I read pieces of this E-book with a chip on my shoulder (And then? I ate the chip).

The Breakup Workbook sounds like something that us girls could use to get our minds off of the guy that made us buy the book in the first place. While it proves to be a therapeutic read, I also find myself twitching my eye and wanting to bang my head against the wall during the “Write everything you loved about your ex.” Now why on EARTH would I want to do that? Chances are I am already suicidal, maybe I’m not eating, and chances are I’m in bed with the shades drawn. So I would skip that page.

But the rest of the book is interesting. Some of it is similar to the advice I would give, and some of it I don’t agree with at all – but different things work for different people.  So, from one relationship sexpert to another, get Melysha’s book on amazon.
